What You Should Know About Our Online Banking

The push notification informs you that you need to complete an approval in the app. You should "retrieve" the approval from our back-end systems promptly after receiving the push notification by logging into the app. If you do not do this, the approval will no longer be available and therefore cannot be displayed in the history.

Our recommendation: After receiving a push notification on your device, open the app promptly to complete the approval.

To do this, press and hold the app icon for a few seconds – a window will then open with the "App Info" option

In the app settings under Notifications, you can then enable or disable individual notification types. Please check or enable the option "Allow notifications on the lock screen" ("enabled"). If this option is enabled, you should receive both a sound and a notification on the lock screen.

The device name helps you identify your preferred device in online banking. You can set the alias during the registration process or in the app's settings; it helps you distinguish between your devices if you register multiple identical devices from the same manufacturer and want to tell them apart.

The appTAN ID is your unique user ID and links your 2FA security app to your online banking account.

After three failed login attempts with an incorrect password, your access to the back-end systems has been locked. Please call your bank to unlock your security procedure.

After three failed attempts to register with an incorrect activation code, your access to the back-end systems has been blocked. Please call your bank to unblock your security procedure.

After five failed login attempts with an incorrect password or PIN, your access to the back-end systems has been blocked. Please call your bank to unblock your security procedure or request a new activation letter.

Face recognition is currently not supported on Android devices for security reasons. However, you can unlock the app using your fingerprint instead. If you activate Face ID on your (Samsung) device (at a later time), please enable or disable biometric app unlocking in the app’s settings ("My Data"). This will set fingerprint unlocking as the method for unlocking the app.

After resetting the app, please have your appTAN ID and the activation code you received from your bank ready. Alternatively, you can activate the app using a code in the Self-Service section under "TAN Management". To do this, you'll need a security method that's already set up – such as SMS or a pushTAN app – to set up the appTAN process or an additional device.

For security reasons, security-related information such as PINs or passwords should not be displayed in plain text as part of a two-factor authentication process. For this reason, there is no option to display your PIN or password in plain text in the current version of the app. Please set or change your personal password so that you can easily remember this security factor (PIN/password).

2FA is the abbreviation for two-factor authentication and refers to the process of verifying the authenticity of a user's identity using multiple factors. First, you are assigned a 2FA method (e.g., our pushTAN feature), which you activate using your appTAN ID and a one-time activation code. Subsequently, the approval of online banking transactions (e.g., transfers) is confirmed using a 2FA method that involves at least 2 out of 3 factors. These factors can include:

• Possession (e.g., smartphone)
• Knowledge (e.g., password)
• or biometric authentication (e.g., fingerprint, Face ID)
